About Viking Cruisers...

Established in 1970 by three former employees of Seamaster Boats Ltd - Viking Cruisers developed and evolved the famous Seamaster brand, and are now among Europe's leading builders of practical motor cruisers for use on rivers, canals, lakes and estuaries.

With a boat building heritage spanning more that half a century, Viking have created a truly iconic brand which we now see on waterways throughout the land.

Introducing the Viking 275

Tingdene Boat Sales have kindly given us a 'sneak preview' of a new Viking 275 which will be available for delivery early this July. Immediately we were impressed with the interior of the 'Viking 275 Open' offering accommodation for six and amazed at the minimum headroom of 6 feet 3 inches....!

The cabin is laid out with a light and spacious open plan design. This allows for a large U-shaped seating/lounging area to port with a table and a circular seating area forward, which both convert to double berths.

The galley is located opposite the main seating area to starboard and has plentiful under unit storage. The units are of a classic finish and the sink and hob are fitted with a flush fitting 'fold-down' glass cover.

Aft of the saloon seating area to port side there is a toilet compartment and full height wardrobe, whilst beneath the cockpit floor a generous double berth (some 7 feet in length) has natural light courtesy of an opening window to the cockpit. There's even a large storage locker - ideal for a collapsible tender or other useful items.

The cockpit features the helm to port with steering via a cable to the outboard. There are single lever engine controls and ancillary switches conveniently situated.

The double helm seat has storage below and there are two further seating areas aft. The seating areas are separated by a central accessway through the transom which leads to a moulded bathing platform with access from both port or starboard.

The Viking 275 Open is fuly hand moulded and features a gel coat exterior which is strengthened by chopped strand matt. All exterior fittings are in stainless steel and the boat has side decks which are approximately 10 inches in width and provide convenient access. Sturdy handrails are located on the cabin top and the bow is surrounded by a stainless steel pulpit.

The cockpit screens are in four sections and can be specified as 'foldable' for navigation beneath the lowest of bridges. We should also mention the cabin side windows are of a one piece section which allows the maximum amount light to flood into the cabin.

Introducing the Viking 300

Moving on up from the Viking 275, the Viking 300 is the largest rivier cruiser in Viking's portfolio. It's a stylish, sporty looking cruiser but don't be deceived by the looks as it's capable of doing all the things you'd expect of a more traditional river cruiser..!

Tingdene Boat Sales will be displaying this model at the 2022 Southampton Boat Show but here's a little taster, along with some photos for those who can't wait until then...

The 300 is the culmination of years of boat building experience by Viking. There are optional layouts to choose from which allow you to select the internal layout that right for you.

You can have an open-plan or a forward bulkhead - so you can have a private bedroom at the front. There is a full galley for those who like to entertain, with lots of worktop space for preparation and plentiful storage. The internal accommodation also provides a very spacious wet room with a sink and toilet.

Sunny days are well catered for with an extensive cockpit that proves ideal for outside dining. There is a twin helm seat and as standard there is a folding screen and rear door in the stern for easy access onto the boat.

Features of the Viking 300 include an extended bathing platform which offers protection to the outboard when berthed stern to. This features allows for easy access to either port or starboard from the transom and there are moulded steps which lead to the deck.

One of the many 'stand out' features of this boat which comes from the newly designed layout are the hull windows, as they offer give superb visibility and flood the cabin with natural light.

This one's well worth checking out at the 2022 Southampton Boat Show...!
