The boats are obviously the main attraction, they often include feature boat displays presented by the manufacturers, which may be staffed by the factory or local dealer. New boats often make their debut at a boat show and it’s a good place to compare the boat market, even if you’re not boat shopping, it’s fun to see what’s new or trending, you may spot a feature or accessory that intrigues you.
What to expect at a boat show
Vendors offer everything from dock lines to electronics to wake boards to boating attire, it’s a great place to see all the boating products before you buy. You can get some great deals on products - boat manufacturers often offer special boat show incentives, such as lower pricing, package deals and special financing.
There can also be a number of demonstrations and seminars on topics such as boating safety and seamanship or fishing tips for pro-anglers - most are free to attend. At many boat shows you are also able to visit booths promoting marina and boat-rental or boat-sharing businesses operating in your area. You’ll be able to compare amenities and fees and ask questions without having to just rely on what you find online.

Monaco Yacht Show 28th September - 1st October
This show is dedicated to the world of superyachts, held in the Port Hercule of Monaco. More than 100 superyachts and more than 50 luxury tenders are displayed by the most renowned builders and brokers in the market. You’ll find hand-picked companies, representing excellence and innovation in yachting. Exhibiting on the quayside: designers and naval architects, yacht suppliers and service providers or manufacturers of tenders and nautical gadgets.
Barcelona International Boat Show 12th - 16th October
This international show will put on a large floating exhibition for its 60th anniversary, with the addition of the Marina Port Vell to the traditional Fusta and España docks as part of its exhibition area. It will display the main innovations in the sector on water and on land, with the aim of promoting its growth and international expansion.
Brussels Boat Show 20th - 23rd October
This Boat Show is aimed at all boat and water sports enthusiasts - friends, families and couples, young and old, experienced and novices.
